Sighz, school's reopening soon. So soon, it can be simply described as a blink of an eye. What have I done during these holidays? Constructive? Developmental? Basically, I have been reading comic and playing computer games. Just had my IPPT test two days ago. Aimed for a silver, but recieved a fail. That's so disappointing. The IPPT testing centre in Khatib Camp has became so hi-tech that even I cannot believe that such machines actually existed. Shuttle run using metal detectors as the wooden block which we had to grab last time and sensors which allow the runners to run own-time-own-target. Censors which detect your motion of up and down when you're doing your sit up, censors to detect whether you have crossed the line when you're doing the Standing Broad Jump and censors to detect your head as you do your chin-ups. So I was thinking, what were the PTIs (Physical Training Instructors or now rather called Fitness Specialist) were there for. Not forgetting, there was even a censor gate while you do your 2.4km run. Disappointingly, these are my results. :(

Enough said of my lousy attempt on IPPT. Let's talk about food once again. :) Went to eat at Serangoon Gardens Food Centre last month. Was really surprised to find quite a large variety of nice food available there. By the way, please do not be mistaken that I went to Chomp Chomp, this hawker centre is just next to it. The exact location is here. Some usual Singaporean dishes to recommend.....
Satay
Nothing much special about the satay that I ordered. Just that the sauce is really smooth and they added some crushed pineapple into the sauce. Interesting combination made the satay tasted a tad different in a way.
Char Kway Teow
Fried plate by plate by this rather old man. He frys the kway teow unlike the one in queentown, that is which much less strength. As for the cockles, he frys them separately, nevertheless, the dish is tasty, still better than normal. :)
BBQ Chicken Wings
This dish never fails to satisfy me. The succulent meat, the bbq taste and the chilli. Really nice and a must to order when a hawker centre has such a stall.
Gong Gong
Another seafood dish that is so simply cooked and yet delicious. Boiled alive, you use a satay stick to "dig" out the flesh and dip it into the chilli sauce before plant ur teeth on these chewy meat. Though it's kind of expensive, it's worth the price IF it's fresh.
Chocolate Fudge Cake
Sinful indulgence of this cheap $2.80 cake from PK fish and chips. The thick layer of chocolate around the chocolate cake just makes it irresistable. Really nice and chocolatety that you might consider licking the plate after you finished the cake.
Since we're already touching the topic of food, I would like to produce another episode of....
HO JIA EHTM
Yakiniku Daidomon (Japanese BBQ Restaurant)
371 Beach Road #01-07 Key Point (opp. Concourse Shopping Mall)
Tel: 62952007 / 62953077
Went to this rather expensive restaurant for a Christmas eve dinner last month. Didn't regret reserving a seat there. The beef(the meat that it is famous for) is just so tender and fresh that you really can't believe until you take that bite yourself. However, it's really expensive, a christmas set dinner cost $99.90 for two persons. They do have all-you-can-eat buffet, where you can keep ordering the meat you want, cook and eat as much as you want. It's priced at about $58 per person I think, which is really worth the price if you're a really heavy carnivore and the meat is just soooooo delicious. Their beef is top grade Wagyu beef as advertised by them, a type of healthier beef which is high in omega3 fatty acids. The only down point to the restaurant is that the bbq plate will get so hot that you'll feel really warm and uncomfortable after a while. Service is rather good as they change the bbq plates whenever asked to.
