- Night at the Museum -

Oh ya, before I forgot, watched this with 小宝 on Saturday.

Expected the movie to be very very very extremely funny. But it turned out to be kind of.... moderate only. Story line as you all know (due to the plentiful showing of the trailors), is about the turning alive of every single thing that could be found in the museum itself. And gradually the things that happened in the museum and stuff. Well, there are rather some funny parts and some unfunny parts, in all, it's more of a family movie with some sort of a moral of the story behind it.

Okay, the movie didn't give me a very vivid impression. So....... not much elaboration I guess. :P

Proudly present to all of you lovely glutton companion, Xiao Bao. :D See, even her blouse blends with the color combination of the cafe.

Anyways, been a real long time since I blogged about food. Well, here's another one I guess. Hope you guys like it. Here goes....

First dish: Shitake Mushroom crumble
Well, being an appetizer, it's supposed to be the first dish to come before anything else, but, they just serve it nonetheless at the wrong time so much so that Xiao Bao thought I was having only 5 fried shitake mushrooms for dinner. Anyway, the mushrooms was crispy on the outside and spongy on the inside. (though it wasn't really described as crispy by Xiao bao) What was best was the sauce it went with, wasabi mayo sauce!
Price: $8.90

Second dish: Pasta Linguine Carbonara (aiya, spotted with my new hair style :D)

The carbonara sauce is sticky, ultra cheesy even before you add more cheese powder on it. Fills the stomach immediately after a few bites. Ingredients were abundant. Really a good choice for those who really really like pasta and cheese. Pasta was also in more-than-enough amounts.
Price: $10.90

Third dish: Grilled Rib-eye Steak
Sorry guys, forgotten to take picture of that. On the whole, it wasn't too bad, steak with clumps of fats at some parts. (which is good, adds to the taste) It's "supplemented" with a very spicy black pepper sauce that I think Mr anonymous would like. It could be served with mashed potato or baked potato, I chose the former, and the portion was quite big.
Price: $16.90

Fourth dish: Strawberry-kiwi shake
Recommended by the waiter himself. Really sweet stuff and a truly great combination between strawberry and kiwi.
Price: $4.90

Some side notes:
All the main course provides you with a soup of the day + dessert at the end of your meal (something that they serve at the correct time). So if you're a light eater, please do not..... do not... order finger food if u intend to order a main course. Service was 2.5/5. They forgotten to give Xiao Bao a fork, I asked for it twice from two different waiters and no action taken by them. Xiao Bao asked once and got it almost immediately. =.=" Ambience = 2.5/5 too. Well, it's a cafe you see, don't expect too much on this part.

Hmmz, after this episode, I think the next HJE, I'll be introducing hawker food. :) Xiao Bao doesn't like the glutton to spend too much. :D

Okay, good news for you guys out there who doesn't use IE to surf websites! I did some changes to my blog. And there's a comments hyperlink now! But, more improvements could be seen with the IE yet again. Because I added in the labels and archive hyperlink on the right side of the blog that doesn't seem to appear pretty well with other web explorers for some reason. For now, this is the best I can do. :)

- Love Letter -

Watched a "epic" love story movie with 小宝 yesterday. It's a 1995 Japanese movie called "love letter". Story started with a death anniversary of the husband of this woman. Apparently, the woman couldn't forget about her husband after two long years and kind of still living in the past. So on the death anniversary, she visited her mother-in-law's house and came upon a year book of her husband when he was in High School. She came upon his home address where he used to live in during his younger days. Knowing that the house which he lived in had a highway built over it resulting that address to be non-existent, she nevertheless wrote that address down and wrote a letter to that place. What was surprising here is....... after a while, there was a response.

The story didn't end just that, got a little twist and turns before the viewer finally realise what was really happening. Anyway, the movie is kind of slow pace and monotonous without much climax until the very very end when what was supposed to be reveal was revealed. LOL

To end, the story was so complicated at the start that there were many question marks on your head until the middle of the story. I think it's kind of a gimmick to make the viewers watch it all over again. I believe, the story is abit of 纯真, 简单 and 痴情.

Ever wonder why there are so many cases of motorcycles being burnt in the car parks? Just come to my house and check out the super noisy bikes that come in and out at dead in the night. It's so noisy it can cause a normal person to go psychotic. LOL.. Arghz..... So, if any motorcycles burning case arises near bishan st 13, you know who it is...... haha

- Fuji Ice Palace -

Went to Fuji Ice Palace in Jurong east yesterday, had a cool and fun time with 小宝. You almost learn how to skate, but was really tired towards the end. Yup, ice skating is tiring. Don't give up so easily! I'm sure you'll learn how to skate the next time we go and you only fell down a record number of two times! Or we can choose the cheaper alternative of learning roller blading first! :)

Oh ya, the place still has the bundle rate which I paid during my secondary school time. Plus, they have student rate which is also applicable to university students! Cheaper by about 2 bucks. It's a good alternative for any outdoor activity looking at the fiercesome weather these few days. Hot hot hot....
