3 commentsHere's me taking photo with one of the trees in the university. See how green the grass is? See how they trim the grass circularly around the tree? Really nice. Internet charges are killing me over here. so I shall upload more photos when I get back, or u can come and see my collection. Had taken about 300+ photos to date. LOL.
Learnt quite alot about some history of Australia and about the Aboriginal People. But still had the tendency to doze off during the lectures. Anyway, I just had my last lecture today. After the new year, it would be a week of lab work, the continuation of the wild life module.
Anyway, had been wanting to write some comments about the wildlife trip/module/lesson I had in smith lake( the place where I stayed in during the "forest" excursion). The mentors and lecturers who brought us around the place in exploring wildlife were really enthusiatic and had a high interest in what they seem to be doing. They knew the forest well, especially Frank who took us around during the bird watching lesson. He wrote down 20+ birds which he could see and hear during the session when the rest of the students could only see the most 4-5 birds in total. He could memorize and mimic the bird calls and identify the birds easily by their color and the way the fly and hover in the sky. Amazing bird man I have to say. LOL. The other two lecturers taught us on the mammals and plants in the area, both of whom were equally enthusiatic. We also explored the ways of detecting the bats and made some bird calls using a loudspeaker through an mp3 player by one of the professors. Anyway, during this 5 day long trip, I discovered something about myself, that I'm not really a wildlife person. I like animals but not to an extent that I would want to know how they smell, how they move about, what their ancestry was, how to identify them. Hmmz, that sentence doesn't seem to make sense. But anyway, they made do extra things to prevent too much human intervention on the wild life in the forest. For example, cleaning our shoes with detergent before we got near the frog's pond, putting cotton wools in the mammal traps to keep the animal warm during the night, waking up early in the morning to check the traps so that the animals won't die of exhaustion when the day reaches noon and being eco friendly by insisting on recycling things. All in all, smith lake was fun and marked as one of my episode in self discovery.
Shall be going to the blue mountains tomorrow early in the morning. :) First weekend which I can enjoy.

Not very nice. Doesn't taste like pizza... Ingredients very little. Worth to eat only one time.
